Medical Planner

AE Works is seeking a seasoned Medical Planner to join our team. As a Medical Planner at AE Works you will analyze, develop. and craft spacesthat enhance our client's well-being and support their organizations' missions, better enabling them to fulfill their business goals and objecties.

Role and Responsibilities for Position:

  • Be responsible for leading the overall medical planning for complex healthcare projects and producing the necessary healthcare and medical planning deliverables.
  • Lead the process and assist clients with evaluating and determining proper organization, space type and sizes, space and departmental requirements and features, analyzing clinical operations and demand modeling, and develop layouts of medical spaces and departments including addressing medical equipment requirements.
  • Facilitate the planning process and work with the client stakeholders, including administrators, clinicians, specialists, end-users and the design and engineering team.
  • Assist in creating, reviewing, and coordinating the programs for design, master plans, medical plans, architectural plans, interior elevations, reflected ceiling plans, equipment layouts along with material and equipment selections, both graphically and in writing, for both technical and non-technical audiences. This knowledge should include an understanding of healthcare delivery, Evidence-based design, and sustainable practice.
  • Assist in development of scopes of services for client opportunities and present medical-specific planning approaches during client interviews and presentations.


Technical Job Requirements:

  • Professional degree in architecture offered by an institution accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) OR clinical experience (e.g., RN, Healthcare Operations Leadership, etc.).
  • Additional relevant certifications (e.g., EDAC, ACHA, etc.)
  • Excellent active listening and analysis skills.
  • Lead project teams with respect to planning of healthcare projects.
  • 10+ years of industry and/or clinical experience.
  • Recent experience in direct and overall planning of various large and specialized healthcare projects, facility management.
  • Experience with planning and modeling software.
  • Experience with Revit, Bluebeam, Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), Procore, Office 365, G Suite, Slack
